Nokia N900 Mobile Computer Unlocked Cell Phone Will Be Available Late This Year
Nokia recently announced their new cell phone, Nokia N900, which is a mobile computer unlocked cell phone. It is Nokia’s next Maemo device, superseding the N810, expected to become available in late 2009. Unlike its Internet Tablet predecessors it will include phone functionality with 3G/HSPA capabilities. The amazing thing is, this phone will run the Linux-based Maemo 5 and is the first Nokia device based upon the TI OMAP3 microprocessor with ARM Cortex-A8 core. It was revealed at the Nokia World event in Germany on September 2nd.
The Nokia N900 has a large internal storage. The built-in 32 GB storage is big enough to store up to 7,000 of your favourite songs or 40 hours of DVD-quality video. And with an external microSD card you can expand the storage to up to 48 GB.
The cool thing about the Nokia N900 is, it has a digital stereo microphone and stereo speakers located on each side of the device. There is a 3.5mm AV connector which is also used for TV out (PAL/NTSC) with the Nokia Video Connectivity Cable. There is a Micro-USB connector, High-Speed USB 2.0 for data transfer and to recharge the battery. The built-in Bluetooth v2.1 supports stereo headsets and data transfer. It is also possible to listen music directly through one’s car stereo (or any FM radio) with the built-in FM transmitter.

When will the Nokia N900 available? It will be available in selected markets starting October 2009 with an estimated retail price of €500 in Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Sweden, £499 in the United Kingdom (including VAT) and $649 in the United States , excluding sales taxes and subsidies.
